What we collect

When you create a Mercado Academy account we collect your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), mobile number and country.

As you learn we record which lessons you watch and complete, your quiz answers, and technical data such as IP address and browser type.

Why we ask for your mobile number

We use your mobile number to prevent fraud: to stop one person from creating many accounts, and to confirm a real person before issuing workbooks and certificates.

We send verification codes by SMS. We do not sell your number or use it for marketing calls or texts.

How we use your data

To provide the courses, save your progress, recommend courses, issue certificates and keep the service secure.

If you opt in, we email you about new courses and tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.

With your consent, we and our advertising partners use cookies to measure visits and show ads, which keep the courses free.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, Brazil's LGPD or Mexico's LFPDPPP), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to some uses.

Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and delete it within 30 days of a deletion request, except where the law requires us to keep it longer.
